The firing exercise called “Centauro 2024” conducted by the “Cavalleggeri di Lodi” Regiment (15th), during which the Centauro II Armored Vehicle, the innovative technologically advanced combat platform, capable of operating in a completely digitized environment, was used.
The exercise, in addition to testing the mobility and firepower that can be expressed by the new platform intended to equip the line cavalry regiments, aimed to verify the perfect integration in terms of digitalization between units of the Pinerolo Brigade, through the conduct of enabling and offensive tactical activities.
In fact, the digitized Command and Control systems supplied to the combat units of the Digitized Medium Force (FOMED) equipped with Forza NEC (Network Enabled Capability) systems were used, capable of monitoring the units deployed on the ground, combat vehicles, sensors and effectively supporting the functions of Command, Control, Maneuver and Intelligence, in all conditions and in all possible application scenarios.
The “Cavalleggeri di Lodi” Regiment (15th) conducted the multi-weapon complex level fire exercise, with the help of a platoon of the 7th Bersaglieri Regiment, two squads of the 11th Engineer Regiment and assets with UAV (remotely piloted aircraft) systems/sensors.
