7 projects presented by the Group in 2024 selected
ELT Group confirms its role as champion for electronic defense in the European context, winning 7 projects from the European Defence Fund (EDF) Work Program 2024 – the instrument of the European Union that supports the Research and Development activities of the defence industry – aimed at bridging capacity gaps in all domains and strengthening strategic autonomy.
ELT Group has been contributing for years to the development of common European defence capabilities, participating in the PADR (Preliminary Actions on Defence Research) and EDIDP (European Defence Industrial Development Programme), which have prepared the ground for the current phase EDF. In this context, the company has brought the skills gained over the years, consolidated thanks to participation in major defence programmes such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, Horizon, FREMM, NH90 and, last but not least, its presence in the Isanke & ICS domain of the program GCAP.
As for the EDF projects awarded this year, in the terrestrial domain ELT participates in the AURIGA project, for the development of technologies for light armored infantry vehicles (AIFV), and contributes to the IMUGS2 project, providing EW capability for unmanned ground systems; in the air domain, through the ENGRT II project (EW technologies for rotorcraft of new generation), while activities continue for the integration of the self-protection system avionics Carmenta (already the subject of EDF funding in 2019 and 2022); in the naval domain, the participation in the NEREUS project starts developments for new European naval platforms related to the PESCO 4E project. AI-WASP project realizes RF system for the first time based on modular and multifunctional Artificial Intelligence for multi-domain applications, which also includes Electronic Warfare. In addition, ELT’s participation in the project SCEPTER technology (multifunctional RF technologies) and, finally, with regard to the skills in the cyber domain, CY4GATE’s participation in the CITADEL range project for the development of a cyber range.
