Four new Leonardo M-346 advanced trainer aircraft arrived in Poland in August this year. From August 28 to October 29, the machines underwent a delivery process, which was carried out by flight and ground personnel, trained in the operation of the M-346. A visual inspection was carried out and ground tests were carried out. Specialists checked the aircraft in the air and verified the correctness of the technical documentation.
The four new white-tailed eagles are slightly different from those delivered by 2020. The avionics system software has been modified. In parallel with the commissioning work, Leonardo’s personnel made a reverse modification of the systems of the 7701-7712 aircraft. The planes were accepted, and their first flights took place after the registration process – November 9.
The Leonardo M-346 appeared in the Polish Air Force in 2016, as the successor to the legendary TS-11 school aircraft “Iskra”. In 2018, they officially received the name “Bielik”. The machines are used in the 4th School Aviation Wing in Dęblin to educate cadets at the Air Force Military Academy. Thanks to advanced training aircraft, the Polish Air Force can completely independently educate future pilots of modern combat aircraft, such as F-16, F-35, and thus give up expensive training abroad. The M-346s are operated by the air forces of Italy, Israel, Poland and Singapore.
