With the landing of the four EF-2000 Eurofighter aircraft from the 4th, 36th, 37th and 51st wings of the Italian Air Force, the redeployment operations in Constanta (ROU) of the “Gladiator” Air Task Force are completed which, with its 150 men and women, will immediately begin the delicate predispositions necessary to achieve the F.O.C. (Full Operational Capability ).
The Italian pilots were greeted by the Chief of Staff of the Romanian Air Force (Forṱele Aeriene Romậne), General-locotenent doctor Viorel Pană present on the air base for the greeting to the Italian contingent.
In an atmosphere of mutual esteem and friendship, matured since the first Italian mission in 2019, the Italian staff took the opportunity for a group photo with the two national flags. The Italian Air Task Force (TFA-R) “Gladiator” has redeployed from mid-November 2022 at the Romanian airport of Mihail Kogălniceanu in Constanta to help strengthen the surveillance activities carried out by NATO on the eastern flank of the Atlantic Alliance.
