This important step marks Türkiye’s entry as a partner nation in the Eurofighter community and the tenth nation to operate the Typhoon – Europe’s most advanced multi-role combat aircraft.
We are delighted to welcome the Republic of Türkiye to the Eurofighter programme and look forward to supporting the Turkish Air Force as it takes delivery of our world-class weapon system.
Jorge Tamarit-Degenhardt, Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter
Jorge Tamarit-Degenhardt, Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter, said: “As a proud member of the Eurofighter family, Türkiye will join our four core nations and five partner nations in working together to protect our skies and strengthen security across Europe with a vital role in covering the Black Sea flank.”
This new partnership further strengthens the Eurofighter programme’s position as the backbone of Europe’s air defence. It follows a series of recent orders from three of the four core Eurofighter nations: Germany (20 jets), Spain (25 jets) and Italy (up to 24 jets).
Across Europe, the Eurofighter programme supports more than 100,000 skilled jobs in over 400 companies, driving innovation, collaboration, and long-term industrial capability.
As Europe’s largest defence programme, Eurofighter continues to play a vital role in ensuring the continent’s security while sustaining its defence industrial base for generations to come.
