Avio S.p.A. signed a contract with MBDA Italia S.p.A. for the supply by Avio of rocket motors for CAMM-ER (Extended Range) missiles manufactured by MBDA.
This contract, amounting close to EUR 150 million, together with the supply of the motors, also provides for some technological transfer activities related to part of manufacturing and integration processes of such motors.
The contract represents a significant related party transaction, according with CONSOB Regulation n. 17221 of March 12, 2010 (the “RPT Regulation”), adopted in the “Related Party Transactions Policy” approved by Avio’s Board of Directors in its latest version on January 26, 2024 (the “RPT Policy”).
The signing of the contract has been approved by the Board of Directors of Avio on November, 20 2024, following the favorable opinion on the interest of the Company in the contract, in addition to the benefit and substantial correctness of the relative conditions, expressed by the Related Parties Committee according to the RPT Regulation and the RPT Policy.
All members of the CAMM family share the same cutting-edge active radar seeker and soft-launch
system, with CAMM-ER featuring a larger rocket motor designed by AVIO to provide extended range
out beyond 40 km.
CAMM-ER was designed to replace the Aspide munition in the Medium Advanced Air Defence
System (MAADS) of the Italian Air Force and the GRIFO air defence system of the Italian Army.
CAMM-ER is the missile that will be used in the Albatros NG system, which provides an optimized
naval based air defence (NBAD) solution to enhance the defence capabilities of naval fleets.
