That from 25 to 29 September was an intense week for the Italian Airspace Control Training Department (RACSA) of Pratica di Mare which, in addition to hosting the attendants of the courses for the controllers of the Integrated Air Missile Defense (DAMI) and Air Traffic (TA), welcomed the delegations of Mexico and Senegal visiting the Department.
The cooperation with the two countries, started several years ago, represents an important opportunity both for the Armed Forces and for the RACSA itself, as a showcase of AM excellence in the field of education and training of all airspace control personnel.
The guests were first shown the organization of the Institution, its institutional tasks and the complex training offer that affects Air Defense, Air Traffic and Meteorology. The visit then continued to the latest generation simulators supplied to the Department. Here the guests were able to appreciate the Air Traffic Management (ATM) component, noting the coordination and control capacity in the simulated management of military and civil assets.
At the end of the visit, after the usual signing of the roll of honor and the exchange of gifts with Colonel Emidio Salmè, Commander of RACSA, the delegations expressed their appreciation for the welcome given and for the training and training capacity of the Department, expressing a potential interest in wanting to undertake a more intense collaboration in the near future. The RACSA is the training body of the Air Force that has the task of training the Officer, Non-Commissioned Officer and Troop personnel of all the Armed Forces, including foreign ones, on the Control of Integrated Air Missile Defense, Air Traffic and Meteorology, as well as providing training support to other bodies outside the Ministry of Defense, such as the Department of Civil Protection and the National Fire Brigade. Located at the Military Airport of Pratica di Mare (RM), the Department depends on the Aerospace Control Brigade of the Aerospace Operations Command of Poggio Renatico (FE).
