Five years of surveillance missions as part of Operation Prima Parthica in support of the International Coalition
The Typhoon Task Group of the Italian National Contingent Command Air – Task Force Air Kuwait (IT NCC AIR – TFA K) has reached 10,000 flight hours with Eurofighter F-2000A aircraft as part of Operation Prima Parthica/Inherent Resolve, contributing to surveillance and reconnaissance activities in support of the international coalition engaged in the fight against Daesh.
The milestone was achieved in five years of operational activity in Kuwait, starting in March 2019. The missions carried out by Italian crews make it possible to monitor sensitive areas and collect useful information to prevent threats, contributing to the safety of the civilian population and the personnel of the Coalition operating in Iraq.
The Commander of the IT NCC AIR – TFA Kuwait, Colonel Marco Mangini, highlighted how the result is the result of the constant commitment of the staff of the Task Group and the entire inter-force contingent, emphasizing the contribution of the operational, technical, logistical and support components, which ensure the full efficiency of the assets employed.
Redeployed to the Ali Al Salem air base, the Task Group uses Eurofighter F-2000A aircraft of the Italian Air Force with aerotactical reconnaissance capabilities, providing a constant update of the information framework of the area of operations. The IT NCC AIR – TFA Kuwait expresses, in fact, a wide spectrum of capabilities of the national air power, contributing with reconnaissance, in-flight refueling, tactical transport and protection of the land component to the activities of the international Coalition.
