An intense training cycle in favor of personnel of the Nigerien Defense and Security Forces, lasting about 8 weeks, aimed at obtaining the “Fune di Vincolo” parachuting license, which involved instructors of the Italian Army from the “Folgore Paratroopers Brigade”, was concluded.
At the Training Center for Airborne Troops (CITAP) of the Armée de Terre of the Republic of Niger, in the presence of the Commander of the Italian Support Mission in Niger, Brigadier General Liberato Amadio and various military authorities, the ceremony of delivery of parachuting patents to 39 members of the Nigerien Armed Forces was held, the Niger National Guard and the Customs Police.
In his speech, Gen. Amadio praised the commitment made by the newly qualified to achieve the coveted qualification, also addressing a special thanks to the soldiers of the Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Italian Army of the “Folgore” Paratroopers Brigade who, with responsibility, passion and dedication, have been able to accompany their Nigerien colleagues towards the coveted recognition, and to the Air Group Task Group of the Air Force that provided the aircraft for the transport of visitors from Niamey Airport to the launch zone.
The 4 ^ (and last) launch campaign of 2022 closes a training cycle that saw the qualification of military paratrooper, during the year, conferred on 282 representatives of the Defense and Security Forces of the Republic of Niger. In addition, for the first time, at the end of the 1st course “Airborne light supplies”, some light containers made by the Nigerien students of the Parachute Battalion were parachuted. The activities of MISIN, born in 2018, in accordance with the cooperation agreements between the Italian Government and the Nigerien Government, are conducted under the coordination and according to the directives given by the Joint Top Operational Command (COVI).
