Record numbers for the international exhibition “REAS 2022”, the great annual event for the emergency, civil protection, first aid and fire-fighting sectors. The twenty-first edition, which will take place from 7 to 9 October at the Montichiari Fair Center (Brescia), will in fact see a remarkable growth: there will be over 240 exhibitors, from Italy and 19 other countries (including Germany, France, Poland, Great Britain, United States, Canada, Australia, China and South Korea), on a total exhibition area of over 30 thousand square meters that will occupy the 8 pavilions of the exhibition center. Over 20 conferences and side events are also scheduled. “REAS is a fair able to promote the internationalization of the Italian emergency system, involving new foreign buyers and expanding the exhibition offer.”, said Attilio Fontana, president of the Lombardy Region, during a press conference today at Palazzo Pirelli in Milan. “It therefore fulfills that important task of the exhibition system that allows us to promote Lombard excellence, a showcase and at the same time a springboard for the business system, for operators, for the Third Sector. Lombardy Region is confirmed as leader in Italy for the emergency sector. Ours is the birthplace of the father of Civil Protection, Giuseppe Zamberletti, a Varese man who was the architect of that efficient system, still consolidated, of forecasting and prevention, of rescue and organization of the national service in all its components, of enhancement of local authorities and volunteering. REAS pays tribute to this Lombard excellence, which over the years has been able to grow and evolve leading us to excel in the national and non-national context”. “We are happy to record the sold out of REAS 2022”, underlined Gianantonio Rosa, president of the Montichiari Fair Center, “which for over two decades has been offering professionals and volunteers of the emergency and civil protection an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and to update themselves on the most topical issues”.
At “REAS 2022” numerous technological innovations will be exhibited, such as new special vehicles for emergency and firefighting, sophisticated equipment for first aid operators, anti-covid sanitization systems and also drones for the search for missing in case of natural disasters or serious accidents. Among the many events scheduled, there will be a conference on the measures taken in Italy to address the humanitarian emergency caused by the war in Ukraine, which will be attended among others by the head of the Department of Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curcio, and the Ukrainian ambassador to Italy, Yaroslav Melnyk. A round table will instead be dedicated to the latest forest fire campaign and to the collaboration between the various regions to manage the fires that have flared up again this year throughout the peninsula. Other conferences will cover the role of volunteering in civil protection, air rescue, transport of paediatric or traumatized patients, emergency telecommunications and planning and prevention from natural and anthropogenic risks. Some collateral events are also scheduled, such as an educational project for children on the emergency, a basic course for civil protection volunteers and an inter-force exercise with the participation of state bodies and volunteer groups. Finally, some prizes will be awarded: the “Giuseppe Zamberletti Trophy” for firefighting and civil protection, the “Driver of the Year Trophy” for drivers of emergency vehicles, the “Trofeo Cinofili da Soccorso” aimed at civil protection canine units and the photo contest “Photograph the emergency in safety”.
