The expansion of the fleet dedicated to the canine units of the Italian State Police continues with the delivery of four new Fiat Ducato vehicles set up by TEKNE, in addition to the vehicles already in operation.
The set-up of the dog transport compartment has been designed with a focus on safety, hygiene and operational functionality.
The configuration includes the presence of two fixed and overlapping cages, each internally divided into two independent boxes, equipped with access doors and a removable separation septum, thus allowing flexible management of up to four dog units.
To facilitate the animals’ boarding and disembarking, the vehicle is equipped with two removable and lockable platforms.
Inside each cage there is a tank with a containment edge and drainage system for the collection of sewage produced by the animals. The system ensures the conveyance of wastewater to a dedicated waste tank, equipped with a manual valve for discharge outside the vehicle.
There is also a dedicated hand shower, useful for cleaning the compartment and for operational needs related to animal management. In the passenger compartment, 3 seats and ample space to store material necessary for operations. Four-legged friends are always visible through the inspection windows between the two compartments.
