The “Salamandra Carnica 2025” exercise in which the logistics regiment tested the ability to support the units of the “Pozzuolo del Friuli” Brigade in training, if they had to move and operate in a hostile context, in contested maneuvering spaces and under a changing threat, ended in the training areas of Triveneto.
The activity, federated with the exercises of the maneuver regiments of the “Pozzuolo”, was oriented to the verification of the reaction capacity of the personnel, training the logisticians in the use of technological systems supplied to the Italian Army, thus improving the overall efficiency and safety of the personnel.
Along the Mestre-Udine-Gorizia axis, adherent support was guaranteed in terms of supplies of materials, intermodal and multimodal transport, recovery and evacuation of vehicles and materials and maintenance, provisioning and disinfection activities, and the implementation of an evacuation plan from the regiment’s permanent headquarters.
During the activities, all the resources supplied to the Department were used, including communication and digital geolocation (LMR) services, with the technical support also of the Brigade’s Command Department and tactical supports, and Command and Control Systems (IMPERIO).
The supply to friendly units was developed along main and secondary routes designated in the planning phase for a total of over 200 kilometers with verification of the RSOM (Reception, staging and onward movement) capability perfected during the recent use of the unit in Operation Leonte XXXVII.
In addition, particular attention was paid to the use of weapons and individual equipment, land navigation skills, mastery of individual combat techniques and verification of the achievement of a standardized training base because of a training progression already started in the previous months.
The combination of innovative techniques, experience gained in the field and experimentation with new technologies, has consolidated the ability to conduct motorized movements in hostile environments, increasing the mobility of tactical vehicles even in conditions of poor visibility and on rough terrain, simultaneously safeguarding the ability to react automatically to multiple contingencies and to synchronize the logistical maneuver in operation, with the lagoon regiment “Serenissima” and the cavalry regiment “Genova” (4th).
