Seen in the French Army for a few months, the Benelli SuperNova Tactical shotgun is now officially adopted by the French armies. Its delivery was entrusted to the Loire company Humbert CTTS, distributor of the Benelli range in France.
“The Benelli SuperNova Tactical, after a call for tenders and very severe evaluation tests from which it emerged victorious, becomes the shotgun of all the French armed forces,” Humbert said on social networks. “This is a great success for Humbert, Benelli and Beretta Defense Technologies,” adds the Veauche-based company.
The contract, notified today by the Integrated Structure for the Maintenance in Operational Condition of Land Equipment (SIMMT), is valued at €4.5 million over seven years. It includes the delivery of an undetailed quantity of 12-gauge shotguns available in three variants: long barrel (18.5”), short barrel (14”) and “anti-drone” gun (28.5 “).
Another model, the Benelli Nova, was already used in OPEX by French ground-to-air defense operators to fight against small malicious drones. This contract also includes the supply of various accessories, such as tactical lamps, cartridge holders and tactical straps. The Benelli SuperNova Tactical was spotted in November 2021 at the 13th Engineer Regiment of Valdahon (Doubs). The first takeover then benefited the command and logistics company and the 1st combat company.
