On 11 January 2024, the Director General of the Defence Industries Agency, Fiammetta Salmoni, and the CEO of MBDA Italia, Giovanni Soccodato, signed an act that establishes the start of a multi-year collaboration relationship aimed at the pyric integration of CAMM-ER technology and the construction of the related integration and maintenance centre at the AID plant in Noceto, for the supply to the Italian and Foreign Armed Forces.
The signed Act is part of the collaboration launched in 2020 and reaffirmed with the Framework Collaboration Agreement signed between the Defense Industries Agency and MBDA Italia in July 2022 aimed at finding new production outlets and expanding industrial synergies with the Noceto Production Unit in the field of technological system integrations. In fact, at the Noceto di Parma Military Plant, work will be carried out on the weapon systems commissioned by MBDA Italia, for which the European MBDA Group holds the Design and Manufacturing Authority.

AID’s General Manager, Fiammetta Salmoni, said: “Finally, after more than three years, this collaboration becomes a concrete reality that will allow AID to strengthen industrial synergies with MBDA thanks to the excellence of its production plants, in this case, the Noceto plant. The Agreement signed today has a duration of twenty years and is the first of others that will follow, demonstrating the very important role that AID has and will increasingly have for the country and for the national defense industry”.
Commenting on today’s agreement, the CEO of MBDA Italia, Giovanni Soccodato, underlined the importance and strategic value of the partnership: “Today’s signing marks the start of a long-term collaboration between AID and MBDA. A project is carried out
launched some time ago, which puts into practice an innovative model of cooperation that enhances MBDA’s product skills and the skills present in AID to provide our country with a sovereign capability for the creation and maintenance of strategic products for our Defense”. The Noceto site expands, with complementary capabilities, those available at Aulla where, for some time now, MBDA has been carrying out pyric machining on its systems.
