Activity carried out in view of the upcoming commitments that will lead the Battle Group to obtain NATO Full Operational Capabilities validation.
The training of the Italian Contingent continues, based on the “Julia” Alpine Brigade, deployed in Hungary as part of the “eVA” (enhanced Vigilance Activity) Operation which, together with Croatian, US and Hungarian personnel, performs deterrence function on the south-eastern flank of the Atlantic Alliance.
A combination of exercises dedicated to the development and conduct of specialty activities for each component of the contingent ends with excellent results, in view of the upcoming commitments that will lead the Battle Group to obtain FOC (Full Operational Capabilities) validation by NATO.
The first exercise called Blizzard Detonation, saw the spoiling personnel of the 2nd engineer regiment of the Alpine Brigade “Julia” carry out Route Clearance (RC) activities aimed at identifying and neutralizing IED (Improvised Explosive Device) devices along the main routes of the training area and carrying out passive obstacle forcing activities. More complex and articulated was the second exercise called Ardeant Ground.
The training and cooperation of all the assets responsible for guaranteeing fire support and maneuvering units represents a decisive step in the training progression that has as its goal full interoperability between all the components of the NATO countries present in the Operation Area.
