The rotation ceremony between the commander of the Danish and Italian detachment of the Griffon Task Group designated to provide helicopter support to NATO Mission Iraq took place at the Ayn al Asad air base.
The Airmobile Task Group “Griffon”, equipped with the UH-90A, is the department of Italian helicopters made available to the Global Anti-Daesh Coalition.
The A.T.G. “Griffon is part of the Italian National Contingent Land stationed in Erbil, led by Colonel Piercarlo Miglio, who will also provide from today a detachement in support of nato Mission Iraq whose leadership will soon be entrusted to Italy.
The ceremony presided over by the Commander of the Danish Detachment, Liutenant Colonel Bjørn Boesen, was attended by a representation of Italian and Danish soldiers of the Global Breakfast as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
The L.Col. Boesen, during his speech, after extending to all those present the greetings of the Commander of NATO Mission Iraq, Liutenant General Michael Anker Lollesgaard, thanked the representatives of the Coalition for the support received during the mandate and congratulated his men for the excellent work done.
Before concluding, the Danish Commander welcomed the new Commander of the Italian Detachment, Captain Dino Valmori and addressed a big good luck for the challenges he is preparing to face in the service of NATO Mission Iraq wishing him more and more success.
With the background music of the NATO anthem and the signing between the ceding and taking over Commander of the document of the transfer of responsibility, the transfer of Authority between the two nations represented was formally sanctioned.
