Joint personnel training and 5th generation fighter from three nations
The international joint exercise Falcon Strike, organized by the Italian Air Force, began on November 14 and will end on November 25, whose objective is to consolidate tactics, techniques and procedures in the field of air defense.
The military airport of Amendola, home of the 32 ° Stormo, is the main redeployment of the activity, which involves personnel and aircraft from Italy, the United States and the Netherlands, the destroyer “Caio Duilio” of the Navy, and SBAD (Surface Based Air Defense) assets, led by the 121st Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment “Ravenna” of the Italian Army.
The Italian Air Force participates with numerous aerotactical assets – in particular 5th generation F35A and B aircraft – reconnaissance, transport and refueling aircraft and helicopters. An F35B of the Navy Air Forces is also involved.
Over a thousand soldiers involved, of which 600 in Amendola, and more than 50 participating aircraft.
