Specialized training for Special Forces Operators of the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment.
The Rangers of the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment – Italian Army Special Forces Operators – are currently engaged in conducting high-intensity training in the mountain-arctic environment, aimed at perfecting their technical-professional preparation.
It is a training that tests not only the physical and technical skills of the Rangers, but also the psychological endurance in extreme weather conditions, in environments such as the high mountains and the Arctic, where preparation and adaptability are essential for success.
Prolonged training activities on rough and snowy terrain, the transport of heavy loads, the planning and conduct of activities and acclimatization to extreme temperatures are just some of the tests that FS Operators face on a daily basis.
During the training, snow mobility techniques are refined – with the use of snowmobiles, ATVs (quads), Light Tactical All Terrain Vehicles (LTATV), skis, snowshoes and sleds for transporting loads – to allow Operators to move easily and safely even on particularly unstable terrain.
The training is carried out in a thermal chamber for 24 continuous hours, where extreme temperatures from -40° to -70° are reproduced. Ranger Operators train to test not only equipment, procedures, and clothing management, but also their ability to operate under physical and psychological strain.
Prepared to intervene in any operational scenario, the Rangers make up a department capable of responding effectively and decisively to every need, at the service of the Country.
