During the Technical Orientation visit of the Production Directorate (DF) of the Brazilian Army (EB), at the Committee for the Absorption of Knowledge and Technology Transfer of the IDV (CACTTIV), held from November 25 to 27 at the company’s plant, in Sete Lagoas (MG), the CTM (Centro de Treinamento Móve) of the 4X4 Guaicurus multitasking armored vehicle (VBMT) was presented.
The CTM is one of the results of the compensation agreement resulting from the purchase of the first batch of 32 units, which is being finalized for contract delivery in December this year. With a completely national development, the Community trademark plays the role of teaching aid (MAI) for the base vehicle. Therefore, its main objective is to support the training of users of the vehicle in question, both for operation and maintenance activities.
It is a unique project, in which CACTTIV military engineers have actively participated together with the company’s employees in all phases of its development, from conception to final assembly of the prototype, in a dynamic of “training on the job”. This activity, in addition to resulting in another national product for the EB, has allowed the military to carry out similar projects in the future. Similar to other projects in the Army’s strategic programs, the VBMT 4X4 Guaicurus CTM is another example of the capability of the country’s Defense Industrial Base (BID), strengthening its expertise in defense research and innovation activities and increasing national sovereignty.
