The new technological challenges of land defense were at the center of the visit of the General of the Italian Army Corps Pietro Serino, Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, to the Electronics company, Italian excellence in electronic defense in every domain, including cyber and space.
Modern conflicts call for new requirements and new capabilities, already fully operational in Elettronica’s technological development roadmap. The company proposes itself as a national strategic partner in the important process of integration of the European Defense industry, in particular for full technological sovereignty in the Electronic Warfare and Cyber field.
On the occasion of the visit, the company’s top management had the opportunity to present the most advanced Ground electronic defense solutions: the TEWS (Tactical Electromagnetic Warfare System), the anti-drone system in its mobile evolution, the Snow Leopard and the C-IED capability, a mobile countermeasure system to the Improvised Explosive Device, but also the capabilities for the self-protection of helicopters and transport aircraft, in particular the infrared one of QUIRIS, evolution of DIRCM (Directional Infrared Countermeasure). The integrated command and control systems for assets related to the GBAD (Ground Base Air Defence) and the EW center for operational support were also illustrated.
A specific session of the presentation was dedicated to the company’s integrated capabilities in the naval sector, demonstrating the advanced capabilities in command and control systems, as well as the strong level of integration, which make electronics technologies transversal to platforms and domains.
For this purpose, the CESM Antenna and the PDFU (Phades Direction Finding Unit) of the RESM and the MFU (Multi Function Unit), or the signal processing on which the architecture of the ZEUS naval defense system is based, were shown.
Finally, particular attention has been paid to the cyber domain, which is increasingly relevant in the CEMA (Cyber Electronic Magnetic Activities) field for the management and protection of sensitive information, a theme on which Elettronica has been working with a specific focus for over 5 years, also through the subsidiary Cy4Gate.
